In WA, medical marijuana users will be able to grow their own synthetic cannabidiol (CBD) and cannabigerol (CBG) cannabis plants in the coming months.
The state government’s draft Cannabis Bill has been debated by WA Parliament and is expected to pass.
The legislation will introduce a medical marijuana system for the first time in WA.
It will also allow people to grow and sell medical marijuana.
“If we go into the medical system and there is no CBD-only option, then we are going to have to create a whole new system to make sure there is adequate supply,” WA Attorney-General Mark McGowan said.
“But I think we can get there and it will take time.
We are committed to working towards that.”
