The best and worst of the fake news news phenomenon can be found in the media’s ability to use words to describe it, and the internet has been a major beneficiary of this tendency.
From a conspiracy theory about a fictional President, to the infamous “Bin Laden was killed by a robot,” to the spread of fake news, the internet’s ability is constantly expanding and reshaping what we think is newsworthy and what we don’t.
We all need to learn to use the internet to defend ourselves against the most powerful propaganda machine in the world.
The best way to do this is to create and defend your own media.
This is not an essay about how to stop the internet, but instead how to protect yourself from the internet and its propaganda.
